Alumni In Action

We created the "Alumni In Action" section of our website for Michigan alumni who wish to promote events, organizations, and services to other local U-M alums. If you wish to submit a listing for review, please email with your name, graduation year/degree, purpose of your listing, and any general information regarding the organization or service. The U of M Club of NYC reserves the right to publish or not publish listings at its sole discretion.

Check out the below alumni in action in the New York City area:

Michigan Alums open Pourt, a cafe & coworking space in East Village.

Pourt is a hybrid cafe & hourly co-working space. It was founded by two LSA '11 alums, Matt Tervooren and Mike Kruszewski. The cafe overlooks Cooper Square and serves an eclectic all day food menu, Intelligentsia coffee, interesting smoothies, and rotating beers & wines. It is a good spot to hang out or grab drinks & food on the go. The workspace has super fast internet, comfy seating, personal outlets, a conference room, and is a great option for people looking to get work done outside of their homes or offices. It's totally commitment free and can be utilized on an hourly basis. You can find out more at Also ask about their discounts for all Michigan alums!
